Our Programs

At Way of Jesus Academy, we aim to promote and maintain excellence in all academic subjects. We are very intentional in the selection of curriculum and experiences provided to ensure each child learns and thrives in their environment. While we strive to maintain a strong academic program we also believe that relationships are very important. Peer relationships are guided and developed with over-site from a caring and positive staff. We keep our student to teacher ratio at no more than 10 to 1. This low ratio allows the teachers to personally know and understand the learning styles of each child and provide them with the guidance needed to help them grow and achieve their fullest potential, both academically and socially.

Preschool Program

4 YEAR OLD CLASS

Our preschool program is a full day (8:30-3:00), 3 or 5 days a week program.

Way of Jesus Academy provides a positive, Christ-centered, stimulating classroom where your child can feel secure and accepted. We continually evaluate the curriculum used to make sure that it is meeting the needs of our preschoolers. Our teachers supplement materials and activities where needed to make sure each child is reaching their full potential. Skills taught include social skills (gentle touch, sharing, kind words, cooperation), ABC’s, numbers 1-10, singing, gross motor skills (jumping, climbing, balancing, etc.). It also includes free play time, Bible class, story time. Field trips and other stimulating activities outside the classroom are also provided. Our preschool class has a rest time each afternoon.

Preschoolers eat in the cafeteria with other classes, giving them opportunities to interact with children of other ages.  Lunch and snacks are provided.

Preschool students are not able to ride the bus, so parents/guardians will need to provide transportation to and from school.

We welcome families who are looking not only for a preschool but who intend to have their children continue on to Way of Jesus Academy’s kindergarten and elementary school. If you are interested in hearing more or visiting our school, please call us at 717-715-0099 option 1, or email office@WayofJesusAcademy.org

Kindergarten Program

Kindergarten at Way of Jesus Academy is an exciting and important stage for children at age 5.

In kindergarten, your child will be introduced to letters and their sounds, as well as the beginning steps in reading. We use a curriculum that incorporates manipulatives and hands-on activities to allow success and understanding of concepts for all learning styles.  Math, Phonics, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Bible, Music, and art will be taught in Kindergarten.

As with all classes at Way of Jesus Academy, we keep a student to teacher ratio of 10 to 1. This allows the teacher to personally know and help each student and provides an excellent environment for the children to learn and thrive in.

Our Kindergarten program is a full day (8:30-3:00), 3 or 5 days a week program.

Kindergarten students are able to ride on the bus.

We welcome families who are looking not only for a kindergarten but who intend to have their children continue on to Way of Jesus Academy’s elementary school. If you are interested in hearing more or visiting our school, please call us at 717-715-0099 option 1, or email office@WayofJesusAcademy.org
